Dubai had been on my travel list for a long time, and this year, I finally made it happen. I spent two full weeks exploring the city, and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken. From the futuristic skyline and world-class malls to the cultural touches and desert landscapes, Dubai truly offered a little bit of everything. This being my very first time in the UAE, I arrived with curiosity and excitement and left with a sense of amazement that’s hard to put into words.
Where I Stayed
During my trip, I stayed at two different places: Form Hotel and Millennium Heights. Both locations were comfortable and gave me a good base for exploring the city, with plenty of amenities and easy access to local attractions. That said, while I enjoyed the hotels, I realised that on my next visit I’d like to rent a place instead. Renting would allow me to feel a little more settled and experience Dubai at a slower pace, almost like a resident rather than a tourist. The city has such a modern and stylish lifestyle, and I can imagine how different it would feel to live in a neighbourhood, discover local cafés, and build a routine.
Things To Do in Dubai
Dubai is a city that constantly keeps you entertained, and I was never short of things to do. One of the highlights of my trip was spending time at the Dubai Mall. It’s not just a mall, it’s an entire destination with shops, restaurants, and entertainment options all under one roof. I could have spent days exploring and still not seen everything.
Another unforgettable experience was the desert safari, where I got to step away from the city’s glittering skyscrapers and into the vast golden dunes. Riding a camel in the desert was such a unique experience and one that really made me feel connected to the region’s culture and history. The peacefulness of the desert, combined with the thrill of adventure, made it a perfect balance.
Of course, after all the exploring, I also treated myself to spa experiences. They were exactly what I needed to recharge and slow down. The level of hospitality and luxury in Dubai’s spas is unmatched, and they became one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Food & Flavours
Food in Dubai deserves its own spotlight. The city is a melting pot of cultures, and you can find just about every type of cuisine imaginable. One of my favourite stops was Raising Cane’s, where I indulged in some seriously good comfort food. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I also loved the açai bowls light, refreshing, and perfect for Dubai’s warm climate.

I made sure to try some Emirati dishes as well, which gave me a better appreciation for the local food culture. The flavours were rich and distinct, and it was nice to step outside of my usual choices. Dining in Dubai is not just about eating it’s about the experience. Whether I was sitting in a sleek modern restaurant or enjoying a casual snack, the atmosphere always made it feel special.
Shopping & Souvenirs
Shopping in Dubai is unlike anywhere else. The Dubai Mall was an obvious choice and an absolute must-visit. Walking through it felt like stepping into a world of endless options, from luxury brands to unique finds. I also did some outlet shopping, which was great for snagging deals.
The one souvenir I was especially excited about was a Gymshark hat that’s only available in Dubai. It wasn’t something extravagant, but it felt meaningful to have something unique that I couldn’t get anywhere else. Every time I wear it, it reminds me of the trip and the memories I made there.
The Vibes
What struck me most about Dubai was how clean, neat, and beautifully designed everything is. From the moment I arrived, I noticed how well-organised the city was. The combination of futuristic architecture, luxurious hotels, and cultural touches made Dubai feel both modern and authentic.
The overall vibe of the city was simply amazing. It felt energetic and alive, but also welcoming. It’s a city that invites you to explore but also offers plenty of spaces to relax and just take in the atmosphere. I think that balance is what makes Dubai so appealing it’s a place where you can do everything or nothing at all and still have an incredible time.
Favourite Memories
When I think back to the trip, some of my favourite moments were the simplest ones. Riding a camel in the desert, walking through the massive halls of the Dubai Mall, or even just sitting down to enjoy an açai bowl after a long day of exploring these experiences made the trip special. I also took a lot of photos and videos to capture the beauty around me, and looking back at them reminds me just how incredible the city truly is.

Would I Go Back?
Without a doubt, yes. I’m already planning to return to Dubai next year. Two weeks gave me a great introduction, but there’s still so much more I’d love to explore, from other cultural sites to more adventurous activities.
If you’re thinking about going, my advice is simple: do it. Whether you only have a few days or, like me, can move, Dubai will leave you with unforgettable memories. It’s a city that combines excitement, relaxation, and culture all in one and it’s an experience I’d recommend to anyone!
